St. Kitts-Nevis (Sports Page) – The recently formed executive of the St. Kitts-Nevis Netball Association (SKNNA) met in Nevis on Tuesday 30th March, at the conference room of the Administration building in Charlestown.
The first order of business was the taking of the oaths by the members of the executive, conducted by a representative of the Registrar’s office.
Pastor Ron Daniel, in presenting the invocation, also gave words of advice and admonition to the newly formed executive, asking them to work as a team, to bring back the glory days of Netball in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
President Deon French then gave brief welcoming remarks and pointed to the fact that his life was basically centered around Netball and that he was going to give his all towards making Netball the sport of choice, within the federation.
Deputy Director of the Sports Department, Mr. Brian Dowe, also gave brief remarks and congratulated the members on making themselves available for such a critical task.
Minister of Sports, Hon. Eric Evelyn, indicated that he was very encouraged with the formation of such an executive and noted that Nevis started the revival of Netball, late last year, when the Netball is back tournament was held.
He wished the executive every success and pledged his Ministry’s assistance in every way possible, but hinted to the fact that it may not necessarily be in the form of money, as that was a scarce commodity.
The members of the executive were then formally introduced before going into their first official meeting.
