St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Sunset Reef Resort St. Kitts has implemented new technologies to achieve sustainable, eco-friendly practices in its operations.
Sunset Reef Resort officially switched on its Sustainable Storage System, the first of its kind in the Federation.
On Tuesday, March 19, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and Energy Minister Konris Maynard joined Mr David Fletcher, the owner of Sunset Reef in switching on the system.
With the commissioning of its Sustainable Storage System, Sunset Reef is now operating on 100% green energy.
The innovative approach of the Sunset Reef aligns with the call for a renewable energy transition, which is viewed as an important nexus in the Federation’s pursuit of becoming a Sustainable Island State.
Prime Minister Drew is pleased that Sunset Reef has reduced emissions from across all aspects of its operations. He encouraged citizens and residents to “celebrate this monumental step towards a greener and more sustainable future for St. Kitts and Nevis.”
