St. Vincent and the Grenadines (iWitness News) – The COVID-19 cases confirmed in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are spread across the country, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Simone Keizer-Beache said this week.
“Therefore, we are seeing persons in the North Windward health district, which would be Georgetown, in the North Leeward Health District, which would be Chateaubelair, the South Leeward Health District, which would be Pembroke, and also the Calliaqua Health District, Mesopotamia’ Health District, Cedars Health District, northern Grenadines and Southern Grenadines,” she said.
Keizer-Beache was speaking in the wake of a release by the Health Services Sub-Committee of NEMO, which she chairs, which said that the highest number of cases has been recorded in the Pembroke Health District.
“Persons are asked to be aware of the fact that the release which stated that we were seeing the largest numbers in the Pembroke Health District, which includes Layou, it includes Buccament, those numbers refer to where persons live and not where persons got their tests,” she said.
“However, as I said, there are cases throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines and persons should be cautious wherever they go. That is why we are saying you should wear your masks.
