Teenager hospitalised following traffic collision

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A student of the Verchilds High School, Diondre Gilbert, is currently hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit at the Joseph N France General Hospital following a vehicular accident almost two weeks ago.

According to information provided by Superintendent Lyndon David of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the accident occurred on Mother’s Day, May 14 2023, in the vicinity of  St.Kitts Marine Works, commonly known as the Boat Yard.

David told WINN FM that a jeep, driven by a female and Gilbert, who was on a bicycle, were both travelling from west to east when the collision occurred.

Gilbert was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

During the Thursday, May 25 sitting of the National Assembly, Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, asked parliamentarians and the listening public to remember the student in prayer.
