St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Ten pannists from across five countries will be represented in the finals of the PanoGrama Competition slated for June 12 2022.
The countries include Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, France, the United States of America and Belize. Six of the ten pannists are representatives of Trinidad and Tobago. According to a release from PanoGrama Entertainment, 20 pannists performed in the PanoGrama semi-finals on Sunday night, (May 29) but 10 persons were eliminated.
WINN FM spoke to Mr. Nevin Roach, organiser of the competition who indicated that so far the virtual event has been receiving great support from the online audience. He added that pannists are very talented individuals and would like to see them continue working on their skills.
Roach said it is expected to be a very exciting final night of the competition. Each pannist will perform their own arrangement of any tune of choice, and be judged on criteria that include variations, execution and performance. A special guest performance will be added to the night’s agenda.
The winner of the competition will be travelling to the Bahamas. The winner will also receive a brand-new tenor pan from Perfect Steel, US $1,000 cash, and a private session with a world-renowned steel pannist.
