St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Ten students have been awarded financial scholarships through Tropical Shipping’s Education Scholarship Programme.
The handover ceremony was delayed because of the COVID-19 spread before the official closure of the 2020 – 2021 school year.
Last week, the students, now first years in high school, were honoured at their various institutions with brief ceremonies.
The awarded students are Zeniqua Liburd, Rasani Pemberton, Tashiem Woodley, Adesah Dunrod, Karencia Williams, Jahkoi Rasbatt, Azaniah Johnson, Stephanie Kawall and Icalia Maynard.
The students awarded were from the Saddlers Secondary, Charles E. Mills Secondary, Verchild’s High, Cayon High, Basseterre High, and Washington Archibald High Schools.
The Tropical Shipping Education Scholarship Programme has been ongoing since 2017 through collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
Primary schools across the island nominate two sixth-grade students who have showcased diligence and consistent success throughout their primary school careers.
Each student receives aid towards school books, supplies and uniforms to the value of US$250 per student.
Tropical Shipping invites all primary schools to participate in the nomination process through the Ministry of Education to continue the annual award for the 2021 – 2022 school year.
