The Business & Professional Women’s Organization- St. Kitts donates to Horizon’s Juvenile Centre

St.  Kitts and Nevis WINN): The New Horizons Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre received a donation of learning resources for its residence through the kind courtesy of the Business & Professional Women’s Organization- St. Kitts

 

A brief handover ceremony was held at the Ministry of Social Development’s building on Friday, May 17, 2024.

 

The donation includes a year’s subscription to ‘Vanessa Rogers Downloads’, which is a popular suite of learning and self-development activities for youth, covering varying topics, including anger management, anti-bullying, employability skills, and developing mental well-being. It comes at a subscription cost of 350 pounds.

The subscription will be shared with other departments within the Ministry, including Gender Affairs, Probation & Child Protection Services and the National Counselling Centre.

 

Ms. Lyn Rogers-Bass, Outgoing President and Mrs. Gillian Crooke President-Elect of the Business & Professional Women’s Organization- St. Kitts made the presentation to New Horizons Director, Ms Adele Williams.

Williams expressed gratitude to the organisation for the donation, sharing that the staff at the juvenile centre will be better equipped with assisting residents in improving their psychosocial skills and potentially prepare them for graduation from the Centre.

The New Horizons Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre said it is looking forward to continued partnership with the Business & Professional Women’s Organization- St. Kitts.
