BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, 1 October 2021 – All schools in St Kitts will benefit from the generosity of The Cable with an upgrade to their Internet speed. High schools, primary schools and preschools will be powered by the company’s Xtreme Internet package which delivers download speeds of up to 160 megs and upload speeds of up to 35 megs.

Moreover, The Cable has extended this gesture of goodwill to teachers who are its customers and will upgrade them to its Xtreme package at no extra cost. Said the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Patricia Walters, “We are doing everything to ensure continued quality access to education in the face of the ongoing challenges that can easily disrupt the process for both students and teachers. We believe that when the dust is settled on this pandemic, many will agree that Internet technology made a significant difference to this critical sector.”

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Mr. William Hodge expressed his appreciation for the strong commitment to education by the Cable. “The Ministry of Education is extremely pleased to acknowledge the support of The Cable to all of our Early Childhood Centres, and our primary and secondary schools. Increasing the bandwidth at all of these facilities will greatly enhance the efficiency with which teachers can engage students in the virtual domain. Additionally, administrative offices at schools will also improve their technological capacity to perform various functions that depend on internet connectivity. I am certain that the various teachers who have their internet service with The Cable are delighted to have this added boost in speed to their service. The Ministry of Education says a profound thanks to The Cable for its generosity.”

The offer is available to all teachers with the applications being channeled through the Ministry of Education. “We welcome new applications from teachers who may apply for any internet package with the assurance that they too will benefit from the superfast bandwidth at no extra cost to them,” confirmed the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Bibiana Henry. The value of this offer lies in the quality of service it provides and its significant savings for teachers who may pay as low as $97 per month for a package that would normally cost in the region of $500.

The offer by The Cable remains open until 31st December, 2021.
