Three Bills to be Introduced at National Assembly On Thursday, February 18

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The first sitting of the National Assembly for 2021 is slated for Thursday, February 18 at 10 a.m.

On the order paper disseminated on February 17, the bills to be discussed include:

The introduction and first readings of the Magistrates Code of Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2021; Criminal Procedures (Amendment) Bill, 2021; and Jury (Amendment) Bill, 2021 by

Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Vincent Byron Jr.

Additionally, Byron will move to have the second reading of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (Judicial Officers Pensions) Bill, 2021, which had its first reading on September 3, 2020.

Also, the Honourable Minister of Health, ICT, Entertainment, Entrepreneurship and Talent Development, Akilah Byron-Nisbett, will move to have the second reading of the Electronic Communications Bill, 2021, which had its first reading on August 13, 2020.

The National Assembly will be carried live on WINN FM 98.9 and streamed on WINN’s Facebook and Youtube Pages.
