St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The tourism sector faces a tough time ahead with the cancellation of British and Canadian flights as cases of coronavirus soar in the tourist source markets for St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider Caribbean.
Reporting to parliament on Tuesday (November 17), Tourism Minister Lindsay Grant provided an update on hotels and rooms allotted for international visitors as the country gradually reopens to international travelers.
Mr. Grant reminded that specific, stringent protocols are in place across the tourism sector for the safety of workers, visitors, and economic activities in the country even as the number of passengers expected to arrive will be less than earlier anticipated.
He also reported on the tourism source markets and some of the dynamics linked to lockdowns due to the rise of coronavirus cases in those countries.
