Two in custody after police found an illegal firearm during a search and seizure in Newtown

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – Members of the Anti-Narcotics Unit within the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force executed a search on premises at East Street, Newtown, in the early morning of August 18.

While executing the search, one Taurus semi-automatic PT738 .380 pistol with six rounds of .380 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) ammunition were found.

Two individuals were taken into Police custody in relation to a firearm and ammunition found, one of whom lived on the premises searched and another unidentified individual.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing. 

The firearm makes the third illegal weapon seized within the last three days and the sixth weapon seized for the year.
