St Kitts and Nevis (WINN) Two Tropical Waves headed toward the Caribbean islands are closely being monitored by weather officials.

The first wave located a few hundred miles east of the Windward Islands is moving at 20 mph and is expected to affect the Southern Leeward and Windward Islands later today (Monday 17) through Tuesday. After crossing into the Caribbean Sea the system is expected to slow down and possibly develop into a Tropical depression.

The second wave is moving at 15 to 20 mph, and located south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. The wave is forecast to move westward to west-northwestward and conditions are conducive for development later this week.
