Under 15 Leeward Islands team beat Guyana

by Curtis Morton

The Leewards under 15 team beat their Guyana counterparts on Tuesday, as the regional under 15 cricket tournament, continues in Grenada.

In a rain-affected encounter, reduced to 16 overs per team, Guyana batting first, got to 72 for 5 in their allotted overs.

The Leewards struggled somewhat in the chase and it came down to 6 runs required from the final over.

Then more tension was created when it boiled down to 6 runs required from the last 3 balls.

Kittitian Jaheem Clarke sealed the deal with a straight six over long on, off the fourth delivery.

Nevisian Amoree Jones batted impressively to be not out on 17 at the end.

He commenced his innings with a spanking six over deep midwicket, off the first ball he faced, and was there to the end, to savour the victory for his team.
