St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): “Fete and Celebrate, Nevis Culturama 48!” is the winning slogan for this year’s edition of Nevis’ summer festival Culturama.
The winning slogan was penned by Hardtimes resident Ms. Verna Thibou and was selected from a record number of 461 entries that were submitted into the Culturama 48 Slogan Contest which ran over a period of four weeks.
WINN spoke to the Executive Director at the Culturama Secretariat Mr. Antonio “Abonaty” Liburd on Friday who explained why the slogan was chosen.
“When the committee met to deliberate this year in terms of selecting the slogan, it was a mammoth task…and we were looking for a slogan that would capture the true essence of Culturama 48 rebounding from two years where there was no festival…
The word fete pops out at everybody and from the time you hear it, it means partying and it means that people will be having a good time…and ‘celebrate’ popped out at us as well.”
Ms. Thibou will receive a cash prize of $500.00, two sets of complimentary tickets to all Culturama 48 activities, and a plaque.
Culturama 48 is set to run from July 21 to August 02, 2022.
