St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Constituency 8 representative and long-serving politician Eugene Hamilton will not contest another general election on a People’s Action Movement (PAM) slate of candidates.

Chairman of PAM Hon. Jonel Powell confirmed Mr. Hamilton’s decision today (May. 07)

“Mr. Hamilton has indicated to the political leader and myself that he has no intention of running for another general election,” Powell said.

PAM has begun its search in earnest for Hamilton’s replacement as they continue preparations for a national election which many feel is likely to be called in the coming weeks.

“We are just wrapping up that process. Not just for Constituency 8 but for those constituencies which we have not fielded candidates in the last two elections, and we will be announcing our full slate of candidates for all eight constituencies,” said Mr. Powell.

Powell told WINN FM that Eugene Hamilton remains on the National Executive of the People’s Action Movement and has indicated that he will support his successor.
