St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The manager of the Water Services Department Cromwell Williams is also reporting that rainfall in the month of May is also far below expectations.

He said efforts are continuing to drill more wells on the island but the extended dry spell was a wake-up call.

The Caribbean Climate Outlook Forum (CARICOF) and the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) have recommended a drought warning be issued for St Kitts and Antigua.

CARICOF urged both countries to:

Conserve and recycle water

Implement water management plans

Release public service announcements

Last minute infrastructural repairs and upgrades
