St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The AstraZeneca vaccines now in the Federation’s possession are due to expire on June 27, according to the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel Laws.

As of Friday, May 28, 57 percent of the adult population had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine – 26038 people (19,746 on St. Kitts and 6,292 on Nevis).

But only 7157 people or 21.7 of the adult population had received both doses.

By WINN’s calculation as of Friday (May 28), more than 19,000 vaccines were available for first doses and more than 13, 600 vaccines for second doses.

With the earlier period for first and second doses being ten weeks and the date of expiration drawing closer, WINN asked how the officials plan to handle the situation.
