Xavier Francis Sentenced to Prison for Illegal Gun Possession

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Xavier Corey Francis of Conaree Village, St. Kitts, has been sentenced to five years in His Majesty’s Prison for illegal firearm possession. The sentence was delivered by Justice Iain Morley, KC, on May 23, 2024.

The offence occurred on January 9, 2023. Francis was charged with possession of a firearm without a license. After a legal process, the court found him guilty, resulting in a five-year prison term.

Authorities continue to encourage citizens to report any activities involving illegal firearms to maintain community safety.

A gun amnesty is still on in St. Kitts and Nevis to encourage giving up illegal firearms and ammunition. The amnesty ends on May 25, 2024.
