(St. Lucia Times) – Customers of CIBC Caribbean are being put on alert following an increase in calls being made by scammers to trick people into revealing sensitive banking information.
In a statement, the regional bank said reports have surfaced in recent days of individuals receiving suspicious calls displaying the bank’s logo, with callers attempting to convince recipients to reveal or verify sensitive banking details.
According to the bank, some of the fraudulent calls have been made through Google Meet and other social media applications. Customers have also reported receiving messages from email addresses resembling cibccustomer@gmail.com.
